Downtown Charleston Styled Wedding Editorial Featured in Southern Bride
I can’t believe I am officially releasing this editorial to the world! It’s been a long time in the making. Southern Bride just released their Summer/Fall magazine and it featured our amazing Downtown Charleston wedding editorial. You can pick up a copy of the magazine now if you’d like to see the feature
This shoot feature tons of soft, complimentary tones such as purples, pinks, blues, greens, and creams. These combined with the natural tones in the wood and brick gave it a inviting feeling despite using a non-traditional color palette.
These flatlay photos are amongst some of my favorites in my portfolio. Kelsey always captures all the details so perfectly. If you’re looking for an amazing stationery designer, Dodeline Designs is your place. Sarah created this soft and classic suite for us to feature in the shoot and it fit in effortlessly.
The French Eclectic has dozens of beautiful lounge pieces to chose from. So when I entered their warehouse to pick up the furniture for the shoot, it was safe to say I was in awe. The original plan was to go for a more neutral color palette, but when I saw these purple beauties I was instantly inspired. The geometric end tables were placed together to create a custom coffee table. Adding in the geometric feature added a modern twist to the otherwise vintage setup.
Our bridesmaids wore some amazing white gowns from Model Bride, a local Charleston bridal boutique. The store has everything a bride needs for her wedding (rehearsal dinner, bridal shower, bachelorette party, and engagement) besides the bridal gown. It’s a one-stop-shop for accessories, lingerie, rehearsal dinner, special event looks, and more!
563 King is the perfect event venue for those who are seeking an intimate garden look with the downtown Charleston location. The tall tapered evergreens remind me of gardens in Europe. The cafe lights overhead give the space a romantic and warm feeling in the evening.
When I saw this pastel floral linen from Nuage Designs I knew it was the perfect wow piece to bring our tablescape to the next level. We topped it off with classic white china, an asymmetric centerpiece, and vintage bud vases. The place cards, menus, and escort board had hand-torn edges and featured blue watercolor treatment from Holy City Script.
The groom wore a cream white tux jacket from Charleston Tuxedo and a custom bowtie from Botany Bow Ties. The bride wore an amazing beaded gown from Verità Bridal.
Last but not least was hands down my favorite aspect of the shoot, the bridal cape adorned with live florals. Kelsey really pushed me to come up with some sort of creative element that was new and unique to our shoot. One day, I was in the shower (I don’t know about you but my best ideas happen in there lol) and it hit me like a truck. A. Floral. Bridal. Cape. I personally, have never seen this done before. I couldn’t be more obsessed with how it turned out.
A huge thank you to all of the vendors who contributed and to Southern Bride Magazine for publishing our work!
