Why RSVPs Are Taking Even Longer to Finalize
I’ve been seeing a trend over the last few months. Now that we are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel with COVID-19, I think people are more unsure than ever about whether or not to attend weddings. I’ve found this to be especially true for destination weddings where people are traveling by airplane.
I was working with one of my full service clients recently on finalizing their RSVPs. It was one week before their deadline and they still had 90% who hadn’t replied.
I think this is largely due to more and more people being vaccinated making it considered “safer” to attend weddings. More people who wouldn’t have considered attending a group gathering are now giving it a second thought.
To help combat this, I’m advising all my clients send their invites out about 2-3 earlier than they originally planned and move their RSVP date up by 2-3 weeks to give us more time to follow up with guests before final numbers are due.
This is a trend I’m seeing with my planning clients in Charleston. If you’re from another area, are you seiing the same thing?
