Decor Items That Create Impact But Don't Break The Bank

When I’m designing with couples I always tell them there are things that will create impact in the guest experience and there are things that won’t. I’ll outline a few impactful design elements that won’t cost you an arm and a leg.

Lighting

From loading up on candlelight to adding cafe lights or uplighting to your rental order light can create a significant impact to your guests when they walk into a room. I especially like adding candlelight on tables. Not many people eat a meal or spend time with their people surrounded by candlelight. It makes the meal feel special and unique.

Hand Dyed Cheesecloth

There’s quite the trend surrounding this decor item. If you look through Pinterest for longer than two minutes you’re bound to see some dyed cheesecloth in your feed. Thanks to Etsy, it’s accessible and affordable.

Linen Upgrades

Lots of couples opt to upgrade or change the color of their napkins to incorporate color into their tablescapes. Upgrading your napkin can cost just a few cents more per unit. Instead of upgrading all of the table linens you could upgrade only the head table. You could also spruce up the headtable with upgraded rentals such as chargers, champagne glasses, extra florals, etc. Your photographer will still get shots with the upgraded rentals and your guests won’t know the difference.

Pick a Statement Piece to Invest In

I like to include a statement piece in designs. A large floral piece that your guests are going to admire and ooh and ahh at, a chandelier or even a lounge area. It will make your wedding design feel more lux while allowing you to pull back on other areas without it feeling like you’re “skimping.”
